Revolutionary War POW camps in Alexandria, Virginia : ウィキペディア英語版 | Revolutionary War POW camps in Alexandria, Virginia
In 1781, during the Revolutionary War, the French and Americans set up a camp in Alexandria, Virginia. A prisoner of war base was dug out into the land where T.C. Williams High School now stands. The original high school building was constructed on top of the enclosure where the captives were held. They were contained for months and tortured. When the soldiers moved on, the detainees were left to starve to death.
